Beijing Hotel, the flagship hotel owned by Beijing Tourism Group, is an award-winning, highly regarded property in the heart of this vibrant city, and now a user of the EzRMS™ Revenue Management suite.
With an ambiance inspired by its illustrious past and a dynamic modernity, the Beijing Hotel is located next to one of Beijing’s major shopping areas and only a few steps away from the Forbidden City, Tiananmen Square, the Great Hall of the People, the Grand National Theater and other cultural and historical sites.
Since its opening in 1900, the 773-room Beijing Hotel has played host to numerous political and corporate events and has welcomed heads of states, industry leaders, academics and travellers from all walks of life through its doors.
In March of this year, EasyRMS completed installation of its entire automated Revenue Management System at the hotel, including a two-way interface for the Opera V3.0 PMS.
“The property selected all the additional modules of EzRMS™ as well as the Core Module in order to place themselves in a better market position and have more competitive insight,” says Christine Liu, EasyRMS Country Manager for China. “I feel the implementation will enable the Beijing Hotel to more intelligently control and price their inventory for online and group bookings, which is key to their business.”
The main reason why EzRMS™ was selected, notes Liu Gang, Director of Sales Marketing at the property, is that the market in China is becoming more and more competitive. “It’s both the demands and trends of the hospitality industry that have pushed us towards an automated tool,” he says.
“We decided to implement the solution because we believe it will lend us the experience and technology of industry experts, give us the ability to analyse our business and also make us more successful within our market.”
Mr Gang hopes EzRMS™ will allow the hotel “to catch up with international standards, better understand our business and essentially improve our efficiency and total revenue.”
The new system will definitely change Hotel Beijing’s manual processes, he continues. “However this will be somewhat of a challenge for us as we have been operating in the traditional way for many years. Having said that, we knew we would face this challenge when we decided to become an EasyRMS partner. The process will now be more scientific and systematic; I believe it will help us to make better decisions once we can rely on the data analyses given by the system.”
