easyJet appoints Dekkers as UK director

easyJet has appointed Sophie Dekkers as its new director for the UK Market.

Dekkers has commenced the new role this month and will be responsible for driving the airline’s commercial success and strategic direction in the UK.

She will be working closing with the teams across the airline’s eleven bases in the UK and will report into group commercial director, Cath Lynn.

Lynn commented: “Sophie has a wealth of knowledge of easyJet, and a track record in delivering commercially-focused customer improvements and I am delighted that Sophie can bring this experience to this key role in the UK.”

Dekkers has been with easyJet since 2007 in a variety of roles working as a UK commercial manager, providing customer insight and more recently driving the airline’s business traveller strategy.

She takes over from Paul Simmons who left easyJet last year.

Dekkers commented: “I’m excited by the great opportunities for easyJet in the UK. I look forward to working with the team to deliver easyJet’s strategy of low fares and friendly service for our leisure and business passengers on Europe’s number one airline network.”

The UK remains easyJet’s largest market with more than 100 planes based across 11 bases serving the UK.
