easyJet has announced its newest destination from London Luton airport is to be Rome Fiumicino, Italy.
Over 20,000 seats are on sale now for winter 2014 to the destination, which is easyJet’s sixth Italian route from the airport and taking the number of destinations served to 45.
The airline is experiencing considerable growth with Italy proving a popular destination for Generation easyJet travellers from London Luton airport.
Over 300,000 passengers are expected to fly to Italy from the airport next year alone.
Rome Fiumicino joins easyJet’s current services to Milan Malpensa, Olbia, Pisa, Venice, Catania and Naples – another recent addition which went on sale on July 8th.
With its wealth of historical masterpieces and architectural treasures like The Vatican, Trevi Fountain and The Colosseum, Rome is one of Europe’s most beautiful capital cities.
Neil Slaven easyJet UK commercial manager said: “We’re thrilled to be adding Rome Fiumicino to the easyJet destination network from London Luton.
“The new flights are expected to be extremely popular with over 50,000 passengers using the flights annually.
“Rome is one of Europe’s most visited capitals and we’re sure easyJet’s new easy and affordable flights will be a hit with business and leisure travellers alike.”
easyJet’s year-round flights to Rome Fiumicino from London Luton launch on October 26th.
Flights are four days each week on a Monday, Thursday, Friday and Sunday.
