East Midlands Trains MD turns chef for railway children charity

Managing Director of East Midlands Trains, David Horne, has donned a chef’s hat and whites to support the Railway Children’s Big Breakfast event.

East Midlands Trains, in partnership with its supplier Rail Gourmet, has committed to donate all proceeds from the breakfasts sold on-board its trains on Friday 12 April to the Railway Children’s Charity.  In support of this event, Managing Director David Horne also helped to cook and serve breakfast on the 07.10 service from Nottingham to London.

The Railway Children’s Big Breakfast event is part of national activities held in aid of International Day for Street Children and will help to raise essential funds and awareness for children living on the streets.  Every year thousands of children across the world run away or are forced to leave home because of unbearable poverty, abuse, violence and neglect.

David Horne, Managing Director for East Midlands Trains, said: “We’re really pleased to be taking part in Railway Children’s Big Breakfast event on 12 April.  Railway Children is such an important and worthwhile charity and we are always happy to take part in fund-raising initiatives to support their work”.
