Early take off For Emirates’ second London double decker

Emirates’ second daily A380 service from Heathrow to Dubai will take off two weeks earlier than planned on 15th June following the early delivery of the airline’s newest ‘superjumbo’.

The A380 will operate on Emirates’ 2040hrs (EK004) service from Heathrow. The airline currently operates the A380 on its 1415hrs departure (Flight EK002) from Heathrow. The airline operates a total of five return flights a day from Heathrow to Dubai.

Conrad Clifford, Emirates’ Vice President UK & Ireland, says: “Our passengers are giving the A380 rave reviews and we’re delighted to be able to introduce a second superjumbo service from London earlier than planned.”

On 1st September, Emirates will also introduce a daily A380 service from Manchester to Dubai – the first time an airline has operated the ‘superjumbo’ from a regional airport.

Emirates first introduced the A380 on to services from Heathrow in December 2008, equipped with an Onboard Lounge and Onboard Shower Spas, the only airline in the world to offer this amenity.

It will operate the A380 daily to Beijing from 01st August, from Manchester from 1st September, and re-introduce the aircraft onto services to and from New York (JFK) from 31st October, 2010.
