Dusit Thani Maldives appoints new GM

Dusit Thani Maldives is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr. Desmond Hatton as General Manager of the recently opened luxury resort in Baa Atoll, the Maldives.

Mr. Hatton will be responsible for overall resort operations and will oversee the implementation of new initiatives to strengthen the positioning and reputation of the resort to key markets around the world.

A native of Ireland, Mr. Hatton brings with him a wealth of hospitality experience in managing high-end luxury resorts throughout Asia and the Middle East. These include the Shangri-La Fijian Resort, Fiji, the Shangri-La Rasa Ria Resort & Spa, Sabah, Malaysia, The Shangri-La Mactan Island Resort, Cebu, Shangri-La’s extensive Barr Al Jissah Resort & Spa, Muscat and the Shangri-La Rasa Sayang Resort & Spa, Penang, Malaysia. His career has spanned multiple hospitality disciplines in kitchen, restaurant & bar, rooms and accounting in Germany, Switzerland, Saudi Arabia and Turkey.
