DTCM organized mega famtrip for best 100 German tourist agents

The Department of Tourism and Commerce Marketing (DTCM) in Dubai, as part of its ‘Dubai Expert Programme’, organized a mega famtrip and iftar banquet for agents from 100 German tourist companies.

It is the first time for the website of the ‘Dubai Expert Online Programme’ to see this big number of registrations and visitors. Hundreds of expert companies in marketing Dubai overseas have participated in the e-learning course.

Following the iftar ‘fast-breaking’ party at the Bab Al Shams Desert Resort, the delegation was briefed on Dubai customs and traditions during the holy month of Ramadan. A presentation was then given on Dubai, and the floor was opened for questions.

The function saw the presence of Abdullah bin Suwaidan, Deputy Director of the Inward Mission Department, Asma Mohammed, Head of Eastern and Western Europe Region Section, and Omar Al Amadi, the an executive at the Eastern and Western Europe in Overseas Promotions & Inward Missions Department.

The 100 participants, who have successfully completed an online course for marketing Dubai in Germany, entered a raffle and had a good chance to Dubai.

During the visit, the German agents got the first hand information about the destination and were able to see different parts of the city, luxurious downtown hotels, apart from a visit to Burj Khalifa, the tallest building in the world and magnificent centerpiece of Downtown Dubai.

Other than enjoying the world-class destinations, as well as hotels and beach properties, the lucky winners had a chance to enjoy Dubai during Ramadan and see for themselves that there are many things visitors can do during the summer months and Ramadan, such as visiting a waterpark, going skiing in Ski Dubai, and attending a special Iftar (fast breaking) dinner etc.

The visit did to help participating agents push sales during low season, get more attention of visitors during Ramadan and point out their high standards and quality of services for ground handling, sightseeing, excursions etc.

The programme has much helped expand participants’ knowledge about Dubai, strengthen their sales and project-planning, benefit from exclusive offers, get information on Dubai events and promotions, and be qualified for the Dubai Expert’s certificate.

The e-learning scheme, successfully launched in the ITB 2011, is modular and flexible, and comprises three core courses. Each course is made up of relevant content modules to build knowledge of Dubai and provide you with information to help you sell Dubai as a destination of choice for your customers.

There are quizzes punctuating the courses that one need to take and pass. Should anyone interested complete the course(s) that suit their role together with the quizzes, they would be qualified as a Dubai Expert.
