DoubleTree by Hilton expands portfolio in Spain

DoubleTree by Hilton has opened the doors to its latest upscale property in Spain with a hotel situated in the heart of charming Girona.

URH Hotel Girona has undergone a refresh and is now operating as the DoubleTree by Hilton Girona under a franchise agreement with Hilton Worldwide.

The hotel will continue to be owned and operated by URH & Co. Hoteliers under the new leadership of general manager Pere Vila.

John Greenleaf, global head, DoubleTree by Hilton, said: “Guests at DoubleTree by Hilton Girona can look forward to experiencing the unique service culture that is at the heart of our growing portfolio of more than 50 upscale hotels in Europe, with DoubleTree by Hilton Girona marking our fourth property in Spain.

“Starting with the presentation of a warm chocolate chip cookie to every guest on arrival, visitors will see that we focus on delivering the little things that we believe make a huge difference to their stay.”

The 115-room contemporary hotel, which includes six elegantly furnished suites, is centrally located and provides easy access to the city’s Auditorium and Congress Centre, just 200 meters away.

Within walking distance from popular Girona attractions, including the historic Old Town and its Jewish Quarter, Girona Cathedral and the Arab Baths, the hotel is perfectly situated for business and leisure travellers alike.

After a long day of exploring Girona, guests can indulge in authentic Catalan cuisine at the stunning Restaurant Sargantana.

During summer evenings, the rooftop bar, Urbanroof, will offer cocktails and snacks as guests unwind while enjoying breath-taking views of the city.

For those guests looking to stay active while on the road, they can enjoy the sparkling rooftop swimming pool (summer months only).

Boasting 202 square meters of meeting and banquet facilities across three flexible spaces, as well as a 24-hour complimentary business centre and dedicated catering and events team, the hotel can host events for up to 120 people.

Vila added: “We are excited to welcome guests to the new DoubleTree by Hilton Girona.

“With a host of activities on the doorstep, including easy access to the 40 km bicycle path connecting the spectacular beaches of the Costa Brava to the lower Pyrenees mountains and being just meters from award-winning restaurants, including El Celler de Can Roca, the hotel is a fantastic base to explore all that the city has to offer.”

In addition to the signature chocolate chip cookie welcome and upscale services and amenities offered at the hotel, guests will enjoy other DoubleTree by Hilton brand exclusives, including a selection of gourmet in-room tea and coffee and a refreshing array of body care products from London-based Aroma Actives.

Complimentary in-room Wi-Fi is also on offer alongside an industry-recognised service culture built around the idea of CARE, which stands for Create a Rewarding Experience for guests, team members and the community.
