Dominvs Group hosts topping out ceremony for The Dixon, London

Dominvs Group has marked a key construction milestone at its latest hotel project, The Dixon, with a topping out ceremony.

The event, which was held on site with the main contractor McAleer & Rushe alongside key contractors and suppliers, signifies the hotel has now reached its maximum height and that the structural framework is now complete.

Scheduled to open this autumn, The Dixon will be a boutique style hotel which will be part of Autograph Collection Hotels.

Originally designed as a Magistrates Court and police station in 1905 by John Dixon Butler, the building is undergoing an extensive restoration to regenerate its grand original features, including its spectacular courthouse.

Rani Ahluwalia, on behalf of the Ahluwalia family and Dominvs Group, said: “This is a landmark stage in the build of this exciting project.

“We would like to thank everyone who has supported us so far and are looking forward to completion this autumn.

“The Dixon will offer a unique take on the boutique hotel experience offering guests a neighbourhood feel in the heart of the capital.”

McAleer & Rushe is one of the UK’s largest design and build construction companies and this project continues its strong relationship with Dominvs Group.

The two companies have previously worked together on the design and construction of two hotels at Aberdeen Airport, as well as a 298-bedroom property in Manchester City Centre and are already contracted to work on Dominvs’ next development; a 140-bedroom hotel in Oxford City Centre.

Mark Diamond, contracts director at McAleer & Rushe, commented: “This project marks another significant step in our partnership with Dominvs Group following the completion of developments in Aberdeen and Manchester.

“The Dixon will showcase inspired architecture and superb craftsmanship in the heart of London and we look forward to adding further projects to this partnership in the future.”
