Dollar Thrifty boosts web presence

Dollar Thrifty has formed a new partnership with Ireland-based car rental technology firm CarTrawler designed to boost its online presence.

Following the deal subsidiaries of the Car rental giant – including Dollar Rent a Car and Thrifty Car Rental – will significantly expand the number of international websites they offer.

Two new sites - Prepaid.Thrifty.co.uk and Dollar.co.uk – have already be redesigned and re-launched on the CarTrawler platform, while future developments will see the Dollar and Thrifty Canada and Latin America sites redeveloped by the end of the year.

“This agreement, over time, will enable us to better maintain a relationship with our international customers and provide exceptional value to these important customers — in their native languages,” said Scott Thompson, president and chief executive officer of Dollar Thrifty Automotive Group

“This is a capability we have needed for a long time and I think this arrangement will pay dividends in the future.”

The CarTrawler-powered websites will provide global Dollar and Thrifty customers with the option of booking and fully paying in advance for their rentals.

“Dollar and Thrifty customers worldwide will now be able to book in any market, from any country, and in any language using our platform,” added Mike McGearty, chief operating officer of CarTrawler.
