Dine with Royalty in Regal Rajasthan

Travellers to India’s beautiful region of Rajasthan can now add to the spectacular scenery and colourful culture, with luxury tour operator Indian Odyssey offering the opportunity to dine with a royal family of Rajasthan.

Available on all tailor-made tours to Rajasthan with Indian Odyssey, the regal dinners allow travellers to meet and dine with one of the region’s royal families, learning stories of their ancestry and regal living.

Indian Odyssey offers the royal dinners in such popular destinations as Udaipur (Shiv Niwas Palace), Jodhpur (Mehrangarh Fort) and Jaipur (City Palace), with the most popular experience being the royal dinner with the family of Maharaja of Jaipur – Sawai Bhawani Singh Bahadur, who ascended to the throne of Jaipur in 1970 and despite the abolition of royal entitlements, remains highly honoured.

Rakhi Bansal, director of Indian Odyssey, says: “Dining with one of the royal families of Rajasthan is an unforgettable experience. Not only is the food of the very highest standard, but the sheer luxury of the royal residences and conversation with the region’s royalty is something that guests will always remember.”

Famous for its regal legacy, Rajasthan has many royal families, who reside in highly decorated villas and palaces throughout the region. Today the royal families maintain their rich heritage and legacy of their forefathers, with guests to a royal dinner able to catch a glimpse of the families’ traditions, weaponary and fine art.

Rakhi adds: “Rajasthan is a popular tourist destination, with its rich culture and heritage, plus expansive deserts, varied wildlife and a backdrop of India’s oldest mountain range – the Aravali range. We therefore wanted to offer travellers the opportunity to combine the landscape and culture of the region with the chance to meet some of its most prestigious families and gain an insight into a royal’s way of life.”

Travellers to India can design their own itineraries with Indian Odyssey, who help pick out activities and destinations to suit every individual’s preferences. Regal Rajasthani dinners are available at various locations throughout the region and can be incorporated into any tailor-made tours organised through the company.

Indian Odyssey specialises in the Indian subcontinent, and offers a range of handpicked hotels, tailor made journeys, private tours and special interest holidays.  In addition to India, it also offers travel experiences to Nepal, Sri Lanka, Bhutan, China, the Maldives and Dubai.
