Delta Air Lines to launch Salt Lake-Heathrow flights

Delta Air Lines is gearing up to the launch of its new non-stop flight between London’s Heathrow Airport and Salt Lake City on April 24th, 2016. 

The flight, which will be the only service linking London and the state capital of Utah, will operate year-round, allowing customers to enjoy the best of summer in the Mountain West as well as a broad range of winter sports.

“We are committed to expanding our U.K. network and the Salt Lake City flight opens up a whole new area of the United States for Delta’s British customers,” said Dwight James, senior vice president, trans-Atlantic.

“With the start of this year-round service, our customers will be able to enjoy five of North America’s most stunning national parks plus 14 ski resorts offering some of the world’s best skiing. We are confident our customers will enjoy all that Utah has to offer.”

Salt Lake City is Delta’s eighth destination served nonstop from London Heathrow and the flight will operate daily throughout the summer then up to four times weekly in winter, effective October 29th, 2016.

Delta has scheduled a Boeing 767-300 aircraft for the service which will operate in conjunction with joint venture partner, Virgin Atlantic Airways.

Delta’s Salt Lake City hub offers more than 50 one-stop connections to cities including Reno, Boise Idaho, Albuquerque and Idaho Falls and is scheduled as follows:
