CWT taps into mobile devices

Carlson Wagonlit Travel (CWT) and Rearden Commerce, a next-generation eCommerce platform company, are expanding their partnership agreement to deliver CWT To Go SM , a feature-rich mobile application available for CWT’s customers worldwide.

CWT To Go SM allows travelers to access their travel itineraries directly from their mobile devices through CWT’s secure and automated Message Distribution Facility. Travelers can verify flight status, check in, research alternate flights, review and select dining options, find destination weather information, etc. In addition, travelers can click to call a travel counselor directly to book or amend travel plans, thus making the busy traveler’s life easier while increasing productivity.

CWT To Go SM will be available to travelers regardless of how they book their travel, whether through any Global Distribution System (GDS) or online booking, on iPhone®, BlackBerry® or Android® platforms . Travelers simply download the app from iTunes, App World or Android Market sites for immediate use; no setup is required. CWT To Go SM will be available in June in the United States as a pilot on BlackBerry. Starting in August, CWT To Go SM will be rolled out progressively on BlackBerry, iPhone and Android platforms in all countries.

” CWT To Go SM is designed to make the hectic life of the business traveler a bit easier. In fact, delivering innovative solutions while improving the traveler’s experience and productivity are both key priorities for CWT,” said Douglas Anderson, President and CEO of Carlson Wagonlit Travel. “Building on the success of the recent launch of CWT Market, CWT will continue to broaden its range of applications for mobile services over the coming months.”

“Rearden Commerce’s customizable mobile solution gives CWT the flexibility to expand its mobile offering, providing travelers with an efficient and information-rich experience in a secure environment for the business traveler to conduct transactions,” said Patrick Grady, Chairman and CEO, Rearden Commerce. “The mobile offering is an extension of the Rearden Commerce platform which is designed to empower our partners to increase the overall value they deliver to their end users.”
