CWT Meetings & Events, the award-winning global meetings and events division of Carlson Wagonlit Travel (CWT), today announced its entry into China’s rapidly growing meetings and events (M&E) market.
CWT Meetings & Events in China has been granted a tour operating license by the China National Tourism Administration (CNTA) that will allow it to deliver inbound and domestic M&E in China for its clients. This makes CWT the first global travel management company to manage both its travel management and M&E operations in China in-house.
Organisations looking for support with their M&E activities in China will now have access to the full range of products and services offered by CWT Meetings & Events to its clients around the world.
CWT Meetings & Events’ specialist areas include event planning and execution – from event strategy to event production, event management and delegate management; venue sourcing; group travel; and strategic meetings management. CWT Meetings & Events is where ideas meet results and clients can benefit from a number of CWT tools such as the CWT Meeting Optimiser and the CWT Meetings & Events Dashboard, which give event planners greater visibility and control, improve decision making and help identify opportunities to drive savings.
Albert Zhong, general manager, CWT China said, “CWT China’s rapid growth in the last decade is an accurate reflection of the tremendous potential of this market. China’s business travel market has grown to become the second largest in the world according to the GBTA, and meetings and events are key drivers of this. With the launch of CWT Meetings & Events in China, we aim to grow our presence in this space and provide both local and multinational companies the expertise and support they need to organise creative, cost-effective and impactful meetings and events.”
Floyd Widener, senior vice president, CWT Meetings & Events worldwide, commented, “We are proud to be the first global travel management company with presence in China to offer both travel management and meeting and events services under the same roof and deliver the consistently high-quality of service that our clients have come to expect from us around the world. In addition, compliance has become increasingly important for companies in China and CWT will continue to work in partnership with its current and prospective clients to ensure compliance is a priority.”
