Carlson Wagonlit Travel has appointed Manuel Bessec as chief financial officer (CFO) for the UK & Ireland.

He replaces Alan Donald who has been promoted to the role of CFO for CWT’s global supplier, products and technology team.

Bessec joined CWT in 2005 and brings over 20 years of experience.

In his previous role at CWT’s global headquarters in Paris, as vice president of group financial planning and analysis, he was instrumental in leading CWT’s 2006 acquisition of travel company Navigant International.

Bessec also played a pivotal role in supporting CWT’s performance management through times of both recession and growth.

Prior to CWT, Bessec held various finance roles with hotel group Accor and construction company Lafarge in both Spain and France.
