Australia-based startup Getaway Lounge has been acquired by deals-site Cudo.

Financial details of the transaction for the one-year old company were not disclosed, but it was confirmed Getaway Lounge would continue to operate as a separate brand within the Cudo organisation.

Getaway Lounge was launched in April last year, backed by Nine Entertainment.

Chief executive Tim Hughes has left the business following the deal.

He will take up a new position of vice president of marketing at Priceline-owned Agoda, based in Thailand.
