Crossrail announced the appointment of Steve Hails to the role of Health & Safety Director.

As Health and Safety Director, Steve will be responsible for implementing Crossrail’s Target Zero policy which seeks to realise exemplary standards in health and safety.

Andy Mitchell, Crossrail’s Programe Director said: “The scale and complexity of the Crossrail project demands the highest levels of attention to health and safety. Steve’s technical expertise and leadership credentials will ensure the Target Zero philosophy drives every action undertaken by Crossrail staff and our delivery partners.”

Steve Hails joins Crossrail from Siemens, where he held the post of Global Head of Environment, Health & Safety at Siemens Energy Wind Power. Prior to this he held positions in EEF Northern, Procter & Gamble, Nuclear Electric and the Royal Navy.
