Corsair Hotel to debut in New Orleans this year

Hotelier Robért LeBlanc has announced LeBlanc+Smith’s first project, The Corsair Hotel, in historic Uptown New Orleans.

Opening in the autumn with interior design by Sara Ruffin Costello and landscape architecture by John Gray and Gray Gardens, the boutique hotel will feature 15 rooms, including four suites, a restaurant with an adjoining lobby bar, and a pool bar.

This is the newest addition to the LeBlanc+Smith’s portfolio, which includes Sylvain, Meauxbar, Barrel Proof, Cavan, and Longway Tavern.

As a New Orleans native, LeBlanc’s vision for The Corsair is a hotel with genuine and memorable guest experiences so deeply entrenched in southern hospitality that anyone and everyone will feel at home.

The team collaborated with some of the best among the city’s creative class to weave a beautiful thread through the rich cultural, artistic, historic, and architectural touch points found in the Uptown neighbourhood.

Hotel guests will get a strong sense of the terroir of Uptown New Orleans, home to arguably the most underrated culturally and architecturally significant parts of the city.

“The Corsair will be a hotel for New Orleans, by New Orleans,” said LeBlanc.

“It’s a place where locals and visitors can drink, dine, and celebrate life together, and where we can all feel at home.

“LeBlanc+Smith’s couldn’t be more excited about telling the story of Uptown New Orleans through The Corsair.”

Housed in a historic Queen Anne-style mansion, which was built as a private home in 1891, The Corsair will have thirteen-foot ceilings, hardwood floors, and original fireplaces.

Guestrooms will feature views of St. Charles Avenue and Uptown, custom-designed and antique furniture, luxury bedding, complimentary Wi-Fi, flat screen televisions, a locally sourced minibar, and walk-in showers and clawfoot tubs stocked with custom bath and body products.
