Conrad Algarve to welcome Gusto by Heinz Beck Conrad Algarve opened last month

Conrad Algarve is delighted to announce an exciting partnership with multi-award winning chef Heinz Beck.

The new restaurant, ‘Gusto by Heinz Beck’ will launch at Conrad Algarve this month, following the hotel’s opening in September 2012.

Gusto by Heinz Beck will be the second restaurant within Hilton Worldwide’s luxury brands overseen by the chef.

The globally-renowned La Pergola at Rome Cavalieri, Waldorf Astoria Hotels & Resorts, is where Beck holds three Michelin stars - the only restaurant in Rome to be bestowed with this premium accolade.

Beck has also been awarded a Michelin Star for Apsleys, a Heinz Beck Restaurant at The Lanesborough London hotel.

Known as the ‘Master of Gastronomy’, Beck takes on responsibility for the concept and menu seasonality of Gusto by Heinz Beck which will fuse contemporary Mediterranean cuisine with a Scandinavian-inspired design.

Sleek and sophisticated with a modern interior, guests will enjoy watching creations come to life with the open display kitchen adding to a lively atmosphere.

The 55-cover restaurant will serve delicacies from both land and sea using premium local and international ingredients.

Pioneering dishes such as Fillet of Skate with Citrus Fruits with Sicilian “Caponata”; Liquorice Flavoured Shoulder of Iberian Suckling Pig with Herbed Potatoes and Taggiasca Olive Sauce; and Apricot Soup with Lemon Verbena and Yoghurt Ice Cream will make Conrad Algarve a gastronomic haven for hotel guests and local diners alike.

The restaurant pays homage to Conrad Hilton’s father, Augustus - ´Gus´, who was born in Norway, inspiring the Nordic-design and the name – Gusto.

Heinz Beck said: “Conrad Hotels & Resorts is famed for its flawless service and personalised approach.

“I look forward to building on this by bringing an original culinary experience to Conrad Algarve to be enjoyed by guests from across the world as well as local Algarve residents.

“Gusto will help define this new hotel’s reputation as a culinary leader.”

Gusto by Heinz Beck will also feature an extensive Portuguese and international wine list, cooking classes and a Gus-to-Go range featuring Black Olive Paste, Sicilian Caponata and other Mediterranean delights.

Ideal for guests and locals looking for gourmet gifts, Gus-to-Go goods will also be the perfect picnic companion for guests exploring the beautiful surrounding beaches and parks of the Algarve region.

The adjoining Gusto Bar, meanwhile, will showcase innovative mixology, an exclusive Cuban cigar menu and an additional bar menu presenting Heinz Beck’s gourmet creations in an informal tapas style.

Joachim Hartl, hotel manager, Conrad Algarve said: “It is hugely exciting for us to have attracted a chef as legendary as Heinz Beck to Conrad Algarve.

“His culinary style is synonymous with sophistication and the contemporary Mediterranean food concept he has created with Gusto embodies our aim of offering guests a unique flavour of Algarve culture with an international twist.”

Gusto by Heinz Beck will be just one of an exciting variety of dining options at Conrad Algarve.

Allowing guests the luxury of being themselves is at the heart of the Conrad brand and with the hotel’s dining options ranging from South American-inspired Dado Pool Restaurant & Bar, to authentic Portuguese cuisine at Louro Restaurant, Conrad Algarve provides a stylish option for guests of all culinary persuasions.

Conrad Algarve is located in the stylish Quinta do Lago area of the Algarve.

The impressive resort is built in the style of an 18th Century palace.

The 154 spacious rooms and suites have been designed by contemporary interior designer Miguel Cancio Martins and the hotel is set to bring a new definition of luxury to the Algarve.

Nightly rates at Conrad Algarve will start at €164 based on two sharing a deluxe room on a bed and breakfast basis.
