Concerts at Sea premieres with exclusive deluxe music cruise

Concerts at Sea and Imagine Cruising confirm that just 200 places will be available aboard the Seabourn Legend for its premiere event, a six-star seven-night an all-inclusive Mediterranean cruise in May 2013 featuring Russell Watson, the world-renowned and critic-acclaimed tenor. The luxurious Seabourn Legend offers just 100 suites so only 200 guests will be able to secure places for this once-in-a-lifetime concert experience.

Guests will enjoy a seven-night cruise in the deepest luxury aboard Seabourn Legend which departs from Nice on 5 May 2013 and takes in the jewels of the Mediterranean including Marseille, Barcelona, Valencia, Palma de Mallorca, Portoferraio on Elba and Civitavecchia for Rome.

Russell Watson will perform an intimate concert and host a Gala Dinner on 7 May as the ship sails from Barcelona to Valencia. Classical Brit Award-winner Watson is one of the biggest names in classical music and has released eight chart-topping albums, one of which remained at the top of the classical chart for 30 weeks.

While Watson’s exclusive performance is the undoubted highlight of this all-inclusive deluxe experience, the sumptuously-appointed Seabourn Legend boasts peerless passenger comfort and service by a dedicated yet discreet crew. Select a dining option to suit the mood: the finery of The Restaurant; small-plate informality in Restaurant 2; al fresco, in The Veranda Café; or the privacy of in-suite or on-veranda service. Almost all venues are open seating, inviting passengers to dine where, when and with whom they wish.

Complimentary fine wines are served with lunch and dinner, and there’s plenty of time to relax in The Observation Bar or enjoy dancing the night away in The Club after cocktails in The Sky Bar. On the nights when Watson is not performing, passengers are invited to relax in the elegant surroundings on-board and enjoy entertainment including professional cabaret and a casino.

Each of the 100 spacious suites is sea-facing, boasting five-foot high picture windows or French doors onto a mini-veranda. A 24-hour steward service is available including in-suite dining, an amply stocked mini-bar and elegant touches such as drawing a scented-bath. Guests may treat themselves to sheer indulgence and savour a bespoke spa ritual or individual treatment such as a calming massage or cleansing facial, available in the on-board Spa.

Six days of the Russell Watson Concert at Sea cruise allows passengers to discover a different Mediterranean gem, with a seventh day spent at sea. The first port of call is Marseille with its brand new Museum of European and Mediterranean Civilisations due for completion in 2013 complementing the ancient port. In Barcelona, discover Gaudi’s enduring influence on the Catalan city and stroll along Las Ramblas before returning to Seabourn Legend for Russell Watson’s intimate concert. The next day, enjoy a leisurely late breakfast then head ashore to explore Valencia, renowned for its monuments, architecture and vibrant floral gardens; and then discover the chic port of Palma de Mallorca before a day at sea. On 11 May, Seabourn Legend arrives at its penultimate port, Portoferraio on Elba, the site of Napolean’s home in exile; and then concludes the cruise at Civitavecchia where passengers are free to disembark and discover nearby Rome at their own pace.
