CityPASS makes “World’s Best Aquariums” Infographic available

Did you know that the world’s second largest living coral reef display (measuring 12,000 square feet / 1,115 square meters) can be found inside the Steinhart Aquarium at the California Academy of Sciences in San Francisco? Or that at the world’s largest aquarium — the Georgia Aquarium in Atlanta — it takes 506 pumps using more than 5,500 horsepower to circulate 300,000 gallons (1.13 million liters) of water every minute?

These and other seaworthy facts are contained in a new rights-free, web-ready infographic that can be used — for no charge — by any blog, website or online publication that features lifestyle, family travel or parenting information. Developed by CityPASS, the infographic uses colorful charts, photos, and trivia to highlight the outstanding aquariums in the world. CityPASS packages admission to a destination’s top attractions into one easy-to-use and deeply discounted pass. An adult San Francisco CityPASS, for example, costs $69, and includes prepaid admission to several top attractions whose tickets, if purchased individually, would total $132.90. So, visitors who use CityPASS receive a week’s worth of unlimited cable car rides (as well as rides on Muni buses and street cars) and save nearly half off combined admission to the aforementioned California Academy of Sciences, Aquarium of the Bay, a Blue and Gold Fleet Bay Cruise, San Francisco Museum of Modern Art, and either the Exploratorium or the de Young and Legion of Honor Fine Arts Museums.

Another example is the 2012 Atlanta CityPASS, which saves travelers 45 percent off combined admission to the previously highlighted Georgia Aquarium and four other attractions: World of Coca-Cola, Inside CNN Studio Tour, a choice between the High Museum of Art and Fernbank Museum of Natural History, and a choice between Zoo Atlanta and the Atlanta History Center.

In all, eight CityPASS programs — Atlanta, Boston, Chicago, Houston, Philadelphia, San Francisco, Seattle and Southern California (SeaWorld) — include aquariums.
