CityPASS launches mobile site for budget travelers on the go

CityPASS, the company that saves travelers up to 50 percent on attraction admission costs in 11 North American destinations, recently launched a mobile version of its website. The mobile site lets travelers do everything they can do on the desktop version of compare prices, read reviews, research attractions, watch destination videos, and pull up directions, visitor tips and maps. The newly unveiled site works with iPhones, iPod touch devices, and Android smartphones.

This first phase of the mobile site also lets travelers purchase CityPASS ticket booklets through the site. The site generates an e-ticket, which, once printed, can be redeemed at any of the attractions for an actual ticket booklet. (In coming years, as more of CityPASS’s partner attractions are able to scan and accept mobile e-tickets, the company hopes to launch a second phase of the mobile site that will allow for paperless ticketing.)

“CityPASS mobile was designed to give travelers an additional layer of customer service that’s available 24/7,” said Mike Morey, CityPASS’s co-CEO. “Now, no matter where they are, travelers can conveniently access tips, directions, maps and more on the go.”

Travelers using an iPhone, iPod touch or Android phone can simply point their browsers to Doing so should automatically redirect them to the mobile site. The site can also be accessed by manually typing into a browser’s address field. (Note: iPads will continue to display the regular CityPASS website.)

CityPASS packages admission to a destination’s top attractions into one easy-to-use and deeply discounted ticket booklet. An adult New York CityPASS, for example, costs $79, but includes prepaid admission to six top attractions whose tickets, if purchased individually, would total $146. That’s a 46 percent savings on combined admission to the Empire State Building, The Metropolitan Museum of Art, American Museum of Natural History, the Museum of Modern Art (MoMA), either the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island or a Circle Line Sightseeing Cruise, and either Top of the Rock observation deck or the Guggenheim Museum.


All CityPASS products can be purchased online at or at any of the CityPASS attractions. CityPASS is valid for nine consecutive days (14 days for Southern California CityPASS), beginning with the first day of use.
