With thousands of visitors expected in Valencia this weekend ahead of the 2012 Formula 1 Grand Prix, City.Mobi has refreshed its state of the art guide to the city.
Valencia.City.Mobi brings everything you need to know about the destination – including the hottest restaurants, happening hotels and must-see sights – right into the palm of your hand.
Home to nearly two million people, the city has undergone a transformation over the past decade – becoming a vibrant tourism hub.
Many local landmarks have been restored in order to welcome guests, including the ancient medieval Serrano and Quart Towers, as well as the San Miguel de los Reyes, monastery which now holds a conservation library.
Whole sections of the old city, including the Carmen Quarter, have been extensively renovated, while the Paseo Marítimo – a four kilometre palm tree-lined promenade -was built along the beaches of the north side of the port.
The race itself will be held on streets of the city, with local heroes Fernando Alonso (Ferrari) and Pedro de la Rosa (HRT-Cosworth) expecting a warm reception.
Commenting on the guide, Kelly Footit, head of development at World Group said: “With so many sports fans expected in town ahead of the big race, we are taking this opportunity to remind visitors to the city of our fantastic guide.
“Our mobile guide should go hand in hand with this event and help facilitate great holidays for travellers looking to make the most of their stay.”
