City.Mobi launches mobile city guide ahead of Caribbean Marketplace

Ahead of the Caribbean Hotel & Tourism Association’s (CHTA) Caribbean Marketplace, set to take place in Paradise Island from January 22nd-24th, leading mobile web development company World.Mobi have rolled out two extensive city guides detailing the best of the Bahamas.

Travel industry professionals attending the Caribbean’s premier marketing event will be able to tap into what’s hot and what’s not during their stay in the Bahamas via two simple, state of the art mobile travel guides.

Both are free of charge, quick to download, and easy to use.

Bahamas.City.Mobi is a unique directory featuring a collection of carefully selected information on top entertainment and attractions in all 29 of the Bahamas islands, while Nassau.Mobi focuses on the idyllic capital city and tourist hotspot, with its blend of international 21st century glamour, old world charm and tropical ambience.

The mobile guides include extensive information ranging from accommodations, to restaurants, shopping, nightlife, and transport. In addition there is emergency information to hand. Additional innovative features include a currency converter and translating tool while web links and contact details are provided to all the featured services.

Commenting on the launch, Kelly Footit, head of development at World.Mobi said: “The Bahamas has historically been a top holiday spot for travellers with so much on offer, from golf to fishing, diving and even flying.

“The mobile guides aim to help visitors (and residents) make the most of their time in the Bahamas with up to date, carefully researched information on local services that can be accessed quickly and easily while users are on the move.”

Designed specifically for the needs of travellers on the go, the guides load efficiently and reduce download costs for the user.

Delegates for the Caribbean Marketplace and travellers can look for specific city items, whether in-between meetings, taking a walk on the beach, or sitting in their hotel rooms - the best of the Bahamas will be just a click away via these guides.

Caribbean Marketplace is the requisite business-to-business marketing event for the Caribbean hotel and tourism industry. At the event, hoteliers meet, network, negotiate and conduct business with buyers from around the world.

Caribbean Marketplace 2012 will be presented by CHTA, The Islands of the Bahamas, MasterCard and Virgin Holidays and is sponsored by World.Mobi-owner World Travel Group.

CHTA anticipates the 2012 edition of the event will continue the successes achieved at Caribbean Marketplace 2011, which saw the third largest attendance over the past decade, with 1,518 delegates as compared to 1,362 in 2010 and an increase in the number of buyer companies by 20 per cent and buyer delegates by 17 per cent, up from 101 and 268 respectively in 2010.

The number of scheduled appointments totalled 11,880 over the two-day event in 2011.
