Choice Hotels Europe revealed it has opened nine European properties so far in 2013 in the UK and France with a further eight scheduled to open in Q3 in the UK, France, Germany and the Czech Republic.

Six of the new properties are located in the UK and include East Anglia-based Quality Hotel Bury St Edmunds, Quality Hotel Colchester, Quality Hotel Peterborough and Quality Hotel Kings Lynn. 

Joining the 38 hotels in the Choice Hotels Europe’s German portfolio is the Comfort Hotel Friedrichshafen which is expected to come online in October 2013 and is located in the university town of Friedrichshafen on the northern side of Lake Constance in Southern Germany.

Clarion Congress Hotel Olomouc also joins in August becoming the ninth Clarion brand hotel in the Czech Republic.  Located in the eastern city of Olumouc the hotel will provide meeting and conference facilities for up to 1400 delegates. 

Clarion Congress Hotel Ostrava has reopened after a complete renovation and also offers substantial conference and exhibition facilities and is situated near the ČEZ Arena which hosts large-scale concerts and premier sporting events.

A total of two hotels have opened in France so far in 2013 and include Comfort Hotel Urban City Le Havre, located in the Normandy port of Le Havre and Quality Suites Lyon 7 Lodge, located in Lyon, France’s second business centre and convenient for the Confluence District between the Rhône and Saône rivers.

France also hosts the internationally recognised Clarion Hotel Chateau Belmont Tours, which in May was recognised by Choice Hotels International as being the best Clarion brand hotel outside the United States.

As well as introducing new properties to the Choice Hotels Europe network, many existing Choice Hotels brand properties in Europe have undergone extensive refurbishment programmes including the UK’s Comfort Inn Victoria and Comfort Inn Kings Cross St Pancras in London, Quality Hotel Leeds Selby Fork and Quality Hotel Boldon.
