CheapOair Releases 4th of July Travel Trends
CheapOair today releases 4th of July leisure travel pricing and destination trends, pulling data from its own database for domestic and international trips originating from the U.S. 2011 vs. 2010 4th of July airfares have increased 8% to top domestic destinations and 9% to top international destinations.
“CheapOair has taken an extra step searching for travel deals to satisfy customers’ needs in light of airfare increases due to rising oil prices and traveler demand,” said Bill Miller, Senior Vice President at CheapOair. “There are still deals to be had, several of our most popular destinations such as London, Orlando and Las Vegas are below last year or are available at modest increases.”
Top Domestic Destinations 2011 vs. 2010
Orlando is again the number one chosen 4th of July destination this year. Despite the highest domestic airfare increases, demand for Los Angeles and New York City continue and these two destinations round out the top three positions, with Los Angeles taking the lead over NYC. Making its debut this year on the top 10 list is San Francisco, ranking 9th. Las Vegas, Ft. Lauderdale, Denver and Seattle represent the best travel deals for the holiday weekend.
Top International Destinations 2011 vs. 2010
San Juan remains the top international destination year over year with London and Paris swapping 2nd and 3rd place. Beyond the top three positions, the international destination landscape is dramatically different in 2011 vs. 2010. Toronto, Ontario and Beijing dropped from the top ten list this year, being replaced with newcomers Madrid, Athens, and San Jose Juan Santamaria.
London not only continues to be at the top of the popularity list, it is also the best international travel deal for the upcoming holiday.
