Charity Golf Day raises funds for The Legend Rhino Orphanage

Milanie Cilliers hosted the event at Legend Golf & Safari Resort

Miss Earth semi-finalist Milanie Cilliers has hosted a Benefit Golf Day in support of The Legend Rhino Orphanage in Limpopo, South Africa in order to raise much needed funds for orphaned rhino calves.

The day was also the end destination for a tractor driven by insane golfer Heinrich du Preez, who completed a journey of 1,215 kilometres on the vehicle through South Africa, while playing 1,215 golf shots in remembrance of the 1,215 rhinos poached in 2014.

“We might be losing the battle, but we’re slowly winning the war,” said Cilliers about the fight against rhino poaching.

“The Golf Day was a huge success due to generous big hearted individuals who came together to support this worthy cause to ensure the continued existence of our Rhino.

“This is a project very close to my heart and I will continue to support and promote The Legend Rhino Orphanage,” said Cilliers.

The Legend Rhino Orphanage is a registered non-profit company at Legend Golf & Safari Resort in South Africa, founded by Arrie van Deventer in 2012.

The orphanage is the first specialist, dedicated, non-commercial centre that cares for orphaned or injured baby rhinos with the only aim of releasing them back into the wild, which has already successfully been done.
