Families looking to take a break over the October half term can still get car hire for £6 a day, according to the UK’s leading comparison site Carrentals.co.uk.
The company says that despite a strong increase in demand for locations such as the USA, Turkey, Cyprus and France for the half term break, bookings for destinations such as Spain and Switzerland have been slower, resulting in lower priced car hire.
Gareth Robinson, Managing Director of Carrentals.co.uk, says: “October half term is always a popular time for a break, with the chance to get some late sun. While many people are having to be more careful with their finances, there are some great deals available in locations such as Spain – not just on car hire, but on flights and accommodation too.
“We recommend customers shop around and take the time to compare prices to get the best deal possible. Half term does get busy, so we’d also suggest any customers travelling at this time book their car hire as soon as possible to secure a wider choice of vehicles and the lowest prices.
“If there are no cars available at a specified location, for example at an airport, it is worth looking for downtown destinations as often the demand will not be quite as high and customers will have a wider choice.”
A week’s half term car hire at Malaga Airport starts from £6 per day; at Orlando Airport from £14 per day; from £16 per day for car hire at Bodrum Airport; and from £17 per day at Paphos Airport.
