Tradedoubler, the international leader in performance-based digital marketing and technology, is proud to partner with the Carlson Rezidor Hotel Group, one of the largest hotel groups worldwide, to launch an affiliate marketing campaign across eight European countries. The partnership will further identify sales opportunities in new markets and fully optimise the online travel industry’s potential to promote the group’s two core brands – Radisson Blu and Park Inn by Radisson.
Europe’s online travel sector was estimated to be worth £250 billion in 2013. In 2015, this number is forecast to grow faster than the overall travel market, as consumers increasingly go online to book travel and affordable hotel accommodation.
“It is clear that the travel industry is at the forefront of the changes in consumer shopping behaviour,” said Dan Cohen, regional director at Tradedoubler.
“We have a deep understanding of the online travel sector and are excited by the opportunity of working with the Carlson Rezidor Hotel Group and expand their reach in Europe by introducing their hotel brands to new customer base.”
Tradedoubler’s 2013 report ‘Performance Marketing: Travellers & Purchase Paths’ highlighted the increase in importance of performance marketing to the travel and hospitality industry, with 62 per cent of holidaymakers shunning travel agents in favour of putting their own itinerary together. The research showed that 57 per cent of travellers use performance marketing apps and websites such as price comparison, voucher code, and loyalty schemes to find the best price for hotels.
Remy Merckx, vice president of digital marketing at The Carlson Rezidor Hotel Group, added: “We chose Tradedoubler because of their ability to provide a comprehensive suite of international performance marketing services, operating across multiple markets and continents. We look forward to reaching out to new online markets and customers, and showcasing our beautiful hotels and world-class service.”
The Carlson Rezidor Group is a key player in the travel and leisure sector, with over 1,300 hotels in 81 countries. As part of the partnership, Tradedoubler will provide strategic advice to the central digital marketing teams, and co-ordinate the campaigns from its London office together with local account management in the UK, France, Denmark, Germany, Sweden, Norway, Finland and Russia.
