Cambria Suites announces expansion to new markets

Cambria Suites, the upscale all-suites brand by Choice Hotels International, Inc., announced three development agreements during The Lodging Conference. The fast-growing brand has plans to build hotels in West Orange, N.J.; West Palm Beach, Fla.; and Williamsport, Pa.  The West Orange property will be the first Cambria Suites hotel in New Jersey.

“We are committed to the growth of Cambria Suites, as it’s an essential part of Choice’s plans for the upscale market,” says Steve Joyce, President and CEO of Choice Hotels International.  “The agreements we are announcing today are just the beginning of Cambria Suites’ continued growth strategy.”

These new developments underscore the appeal of Cambria Suites to guests and franchisees.  All hotels are newly constructed and the brand overall outpaces the rest of the upscale lodging segment in guests’ likelihood to recommend (LTR).  Cambria Suites hotels also consistently rank at the top in their respective markets on TripAdvisor.

Cambria Suites scores particularly high with business travelers looking for a hotel at a great value, as the brand offers free Wi-Fi, large suites featuring separate sleep and work spaces, and free remote printing throughout the hotel.

The West Orange, N.J. property, with a planned open date of fall 2013, is being developed by Sun Development & Management Corporation.  The 127-suite, 70,000 square foot hotel will be located in northwest West Orange, at Interstate 280 and Prospect Avenue.  The property will be conveniently located to multiple professional office campuses and medical facilities nearby.

The Williamsport, Pa. and West Palm Beach, Fla. properties both will be developed by Welteroth Property Group.  The Williamsport hotel will be the third Cambria Suites hotel in Pennsylvania.  The first hotel in Fairfield Township, the Williamsport property will feature 121 suites and will be located in Fairfield Crossing, a mixed-use complex directly off Interstate 180.  Once opened in late 2013, the property will be located in the heart of the rapidly growing shale oil industry.  The West Palm Beach Cambria Suites hotel will be located near the West Palm Beach business district, in close proximity to the Palm Beach County Convention Center and the city’s vibrant outdoor shopping, dining and entertainment destination, CityPlace.

“Cambria Suites is experiencing strong momentum and growth,” says Michael Murphy, SVP of Cambria Suites.  “We are pleased to be working with two of the best developers in the industry – Sun Development & Management Corporation and Welteroth Property Group – to welcome Cambria Suites to these great markets across the country.”

There are currently 19 open Cambria Suites hotels, with properties in Miami Fla. and White Plains, N.Y. expected to open in the summer of 2013.

Designed to appeal to travelers who seek contemporary, upscale accommodations at a great value, Cambria Suites hotels offer spacious suites that are larger than standard hotel rooms and amenities not often found in typical hotels today.  All Cambria Suites hotels feature Reflect, a casual dining and gathering area serving a dinner menu, liquor, wine, beer, freshly prepared grab-and-go gourmet salads and sandwiches, a barista bar featuring Wolfgang Puck® coffee and a hot breakfast buffet; Refresh, a state-of-the-art fitness center with an elegant pool and hot tub/spa area; and Refill, a 24-7 convenience store that offers energy drinks, snacks and sundries.
