Crews will work extended hours from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. The project involves seismic improvements to the bridges that cross Poplar, Santa Inez, Monte Diablo, and Tilton avenues.
Crews will continue drilling foundation piles under the bridges and will continue installing columns for the bridges and building temporary support structures. No drilling work will take place after 7 p.m. Each street will have one lane of traffic closed. Concrete barriers and flaggers on site will direct motorists and pedestrians.
After the retrofit is complete, the streets will need to be resurfaced and the sidewalks repaved. This work will take place from 8 p.m. to 4 a.m. One street will be closed at a time and signage will be provided to direct traffic to alternate routes. Caltrain asks that vehicular and pedestrian traffic follow posted traffic control signs and barriers when utilizing these areas. Crews will make their best effort to work as quietly as possible.
