PHOENIX - Utell, the world’s largest third-party provider of representation, reservations and marketing services to the hotel industry, is launching a new range of products that will arm travel agents with more ammunition to meet the needs of discerning vacation travelers. At the same time, Utell’s new programs are designed to boost hotel reservations during the industry’s quieter periods. Utell is a service of Dallas-based Pegasus Solutions, Inc. (Nasdaq:PEGS) a leading provider of hotel industry transaction processing solutions and electronic commerce services.
Details about Utell’s new programs are being introduced this week at the World Travel Market trade show at Earls Court Exhibition Center in London. The event will begin on Monday, November 13th, and will continue through Thursday, November 16th. The Utell booth is number GV410, Global Village.
The Great Rate Breaks marketing program offers Utell member hotels a global leisure product that generates increased reservations and revenue all year-round. “One of our key values is to provide unique benefits to our customers and to create new business opportunities by providing additional marketing programs which continually drive revenue for our properties,” said Graham Richards, senior vice president of Utell’s Americas division. “This year, we are proud to offer travel agents our new Great Rate Breaks 2001 line, which will help them book worldwide destinations.”
Great Rate Breaks, the first of Utell’s new programs under its Great Rate banner, will make its debut on January 1, 2001 and continue through the rest of the year. It offers leisure travelers who stay in participating hotels for a minimum of two days attractive rate packages either for weekdays (Mondays through Thursdays) or for Friday-to-Sunday weekends.
Participating hotels have agreed to guarantee travel agents 60 percent of their available rooms, plus discounts of at least 15 percent off rack rates on all Great Rate Breaks programs. A list of hotels can be accessed through Utell’s Unison central reservations system, all global distribution channels, Utell’s own Web site (www.utell.com) and www.hotelbook.com.
