(Chicago)- TravelCLICK, Inc., and Amadeus Global Travel Distribution, based in Madrid, Spain announced today that they have entered into a new long-term partnership, where TravelCLICK will exclusively represent Amadeus GDS advertising products to the worldwide hotel industry.
TravelCLICK now boasts exclusive marketing partnerships with all four of the world’s principal electronic travel distribution companies. Over $250 billion in travel services are transacted in this e-commerce marketplace annually.
TravelCLICK will be selling and marketing four Amadeus Instant Marketing (AIM) products: Sign In Messages, Display Messages, Weather Messages and Broadcast Messages. This extensive line of media products provides travel suppliers with a wide range of options to get the right message, to the right audience, at the right time and in their local languages.
“Amadeus significantly enhances our reach into the European market, where they have the leading market share,” said Ray Cohen, president and co-CEO of TravelCLICK. “With this agreement, TravelCLICK becomes the single source for the global hotel industry’s GDS marketing needs. Our Travel Agent Media Network will now provide hotels with electronic marketing access and promotional targeting to an unprecedented audience of more than 450,000 travel agents - or 98 percent of travel agents worldwide.”
Travel agents book more than $13 billion in hotel room sales annually. There is no bigger or broader electronic market in the industry.
The new addition to the Network will complement TravelCLICK’s existing electronic media portfolio, which encompasses Galileo, Sabre, Abacus GDS products, and a Worldspan product expected out this fall. The Amadeus GDS hosts more than 142,000 travel agency terminals and 70,000 airline ticket offices around the world, linking over 50,000 travel agents in 130 countries with more than 500 airlines, 49 car rental companies and 51,000 hotel properties.
“Our European hotel customers are especially delighted to have access to a much broader audience of influential buyers through the Amadeus line of electronic media products. This direct communication with travel agents benefits travelers, the travel agent, and the supplier - it’s a win-win,” said Phil Hobson, division vice president of Europe for TravelCLICK.
“Amadeus Sign In, Display, Weather and Broadcast Messages provide our clients with a multitude of targeted distribution options and audiences. We provide a reliable, cost-effective and fast communication vehicle that supports local languages and ensures maximum exposure for our hotel clients,” said Maria Benz, Manager, Amadeus Instant Marketing for Amadeus. “Our agreement with TravelCLICK reinforces our commitment to extensively reach and service the needs of our rapidly growing customer base.”
