Booking complete travel is now a one-stop shopping experience
through www.twa.com
TWA launches fare sale to celebrate

ST. LOUIS - Trans World Airlines, Inc., will today launch its enhanced website with a special web news conference to begin at one p.m. central time. The new www.twa.com will make it easier for customers to book complete travel - from their flight to their car rental to the hotel room - online. TWA is also offering great deals on travel between select markets to celebrate the launch of the new site.
“The website has an attractive new look and, more importantly, responds to our passengers requests for an easier and faster way to book travel,” said Bill Compton, TWA’s President and CEO. “Now our customer can get it all in one place - the airline ticket, the car rental, the hotel room - and that place is the new twa.com.”
The new twa.com is a product of TWA’s six-month-old agreement with GetThere and the expansion of TWA’s e-commerce department. GetThere operates the world’s largest Internet marketplace focused on travel services.
“Through the TWA website and subsequently the GetThere booking engine, TWA customers have access to hotels and car rental agencies all over the world,” said Patricia Clemente, TWA’s managing director - distribution. “They also have the option of booking travel on another airline that may offer a lower price or a more convenient flying time. It’s all part of TWA’s commitment to customer service.”
Other new features include:
á Advanced seat assignments. An interactive seat map allows the passenger to choose a seat.
á Special meals. On flights that offer a meal, the passenger with special dietary needs may order from a list of special meals including vegetarian, children’s meal, kosher, seafood, low-calorie, and more.
á Weather. Customers can check the weather in their destination city.
á Directions. Passengers can print driving directions in their destination city.
á Passenger preferences. This time-saving feature remembers passengers who fly often to a certain destination and automatically offers that passenger flights to that city.
TWA’s Dot Com DealsSM specials have been a very popular feature of the TWA website and will still be added to the website every Tuesday. Dot Com Deals offer great prices on trips for the following weekend. TWA will also continue to offer occasional special deals as Dot Com DealsSM Plus.
Also, TWA will continue to offer 1,000 bonus Aviator miles every time an Aviators® frequent flyer program member books a TWA ticket online.
Today at one p.m. central time TWA will launch the new twa.com with a special streaming video web conference. TWA President Bill Compton and Patricia Clemente will introduce the new site to customers and the media, and they will invite viewers to take a site tour.
TWA will also celebrate the new site and its 75th anniversary by putting select markets on sale for a limited time and by giving away a free pair of tickets to any domestic TWA destination each day for the first 75 days the new website is live. Visitors to www.twa.com will be asked to guess the destination featured in the photo on the front page. Each day a winner will be selected at random from all valid entries received. No purchase is necessary to enter and website visitors can play once a day every day for 75 days. Complete rules are available at www.twa.com.
