Worldspan Inks Agreement with Resort Seminars

ATLANTA—Worldspan today announced an agreement with Resort Seminars.com that will enable Worldspan travel agents to book travel packages for clients featuring business seminars in premier resort locations around the world. With fast, easy, reliable access to Resort Seminars via Worldspan Go!®, travel agents will be able to find and book three or six-day business seminars designed to meet a client’s needs.
“With this agreement, Resort Seminars joins a growing list of Internet travel suppliers that Worldspan Go!-connected travel agents can utilize to offer new services, increase bookings and earn additional commissions,” commented Jesse Liebman, senior vice president and general manager - Worldwide Travel Supplier Services for Worldspan.
“Drawing on this array of Web-based solutions, agents can provide their customers with a unique package of travel products that add value to the traditional air, car and hotel itinerary,” Liebman added. “By making available to their clients new and exciting options such as local attractions, golf tee times, restaurant reservations and now business seminars geared to fit the needs of all business people, every travel agent is truly a personal travel service advisor.”
Based in Vancouver, Resort Seminars has established permanent Business Development Centers in some of the most popular resort locations, offering business seminars ideally suited for business owners, entrepreneurs and self-employed individuals who wish to upgrade their skills and business knowledge.
“We are confident Worldspan travel agents will find that being able to offer clients business seminars in a relaxed, resort setting is an excellent way to increase both leisure and business travel bookings,” said Ron Barker, director of marketing for Resort Seminars. “And because qualified business and educational expenses are generally deductible for tax purposes, these packages can be a very cost-effective way for business clients to develop their skills in a comfortable, convenient and relaxed setting.”
Through aggressive development initiatives and strategic marketing and technology partnerships, Worldspan is combining the power and variety of the Internet with state-of-the-art reservations technology to create an entirely new way to book travel, offering travel agency customers an innovative new means to differentiate themselves from their competitors and earn additional revenue.
Worldspan’s new Web-based infrastructure will enable Worldspan Go! customers to find and book unique Internet-based travel products the world over, including tours, attractions, golf tee times, restaurants, meeting planning services, theater tickets, concerts and more. Internet bookings can then be simply merged into a single traveler itinerary with air, car and hotel bookings.
Unlike competing systems, Worldspan Go! customers can quickly and easily access Worldspan Internet Associates directly from the desktop, without opening additional applications, and Internet transactions are fully integrated with back-office systems. Worldspan will unveil its new Web-based infrastructure in coming months.
