Travelfusion chooses Galileo`s Web Services

TRAVELfusion
the SME and corporate travel market, has integrated with Galileo`s XML based Web Services interface offering, and launched www.thetripplanner.com.

www.thetripplanner.com allows businesses and travel agents to manage all their travel needs and save money by comparing GDS, private fares, web fares, low cost airlines, rail, hotel, cars and ferries. For the first time a single platform provides a Direct Connect to all travel suppliers, harmonized booking and integrated (Super PNR) management reports.

The first GDS to bring Web Services to the travel market on a global basis, Galileo Web Services enables travel agencies, technology development partners and suppliers of air, hotel, car, rail and cruise services to seamlessly integrate Galileo data and functions into their applications via the Internet, thereby reducing development time, effort, maintenance and operating costs.

“Galileo`s investment and strong focus on supplying XML-based structured data has been instrumental in our ability to work with them”, says Moshe Rafiah, CEO of TRAVELfusion. “Their vision in developing web services technology has allowed us to bring this innovative product to market faster than we could ever have imagined. Their pre-packaged business logic services ensured that we could integrate with them without the usual pre-requisite of GDS knowledge, which an online company such as ourselves typically doesn`t have.”

Riaan van Schoor, Head of eSolutions for Galileo`s EMEA region, is delighted with the result of integrating TRAVELfusion`s TRIPplanner with Galileo`s GDS data. “We are very excited about TRAVELfusion`s next generation comparison travel software and the ease of this integration is a clear demonstration of the success of Galileo`s investment in Web Services. The combined offering is superb and offers the end-user unsurpassed searching, comparison and choice of supplier options never seen before.”

“Combining TRAVELfusion`s web based intelligent software with Galileo`s GDS data seamlessly through our web services offering is also paving the way for us to integrate the same software in our own corporate tools and we expect further joint developments to result in similar successful results.”
