Galileo Extends 10 Year Relationship with TraviAustria

Galileo International has reappointed TraviAustria as its exclusive distributor in Austria. As an indication of its commitment to the Austrian market and to customers in that market, Galileo has signed an agreement under which TraviAustria will continue as its representative for at least the next four years.

TraviAustria has been Galileo`s partner in Austria since 1993 and in that time has established itself as a clear market leader, particularly in areas such as e-Ticketing, where Galileo offers this service on 18 carriers, considerably more than any other GDS. CETS, a product developed with TraviAustria specifically for the Austrian market, giving extensive access to Austrian, German and Swiss tour operator products, further enhances the range of content that they are able to offer their customers.

Under its new agreement with Galileo
, TraviAustria will be expanding the services to its customers to include such solutions as the new 360 Fares capabilities and Web Services.

Brad Holman, Vice President Country Management EMEA South at Galileo International commented:
“We are delighted to be continuing our relationship with TraviAustria and their parent, Austrian Airlines, and playing a major part in the next stage of their growth and development.  This clearly demonstrates our commitment to the Austrian travel trade and recognizes the excellent job that Mr Wegscheider and his team have done. I look forward to building on our successes as we work together to extend the Galileo solutions available to the Austrian market.”

Mr Bernhard Wegscheider, Managing Director of TraviAustria added:
“In the last ten years, we have built a strong, solid relationship with Galileo and are happy that they have chosen to continue working with us in Austria. At a time when the travel industry is going through such change, we will be able to ensure that we continue to provide continuity to Austrian travel agents. At the same time, supported by Galileo, we will be able to broaden the services and content that we offer them.”
