A new booking service has been launched by 4oceans
to help agents looking to
use an Internet-based platform reduce operational overheads.
The web distribution specialist has developed `ResAgent Lite`, a web portal
where agents can sign up to the 4oceans platform for £99 a year and in
return receive full commission for each booking that is made.
The move is set to dispel agent concerns about a significant financial or
time investment involved in using an Internet Distribution System during the
current industry climate by minimising operational costs
4oceans Business Development Director EMEA, Peter Thornton said: “It has
been well documented recently that despite tough economic conditions, a
tense political climate and fewer travellers, the online travel market has
continued to improve over the last 12 months.
“By unveiling the new Agent Portal service, 4oceans is providing agents with
a low-risk market entry into a high growth revenue sector.”
The new portal allows agents access to 4oceans global hotel portfolio of
over 50,000 properties and incorporates a wide range of advanced features
including instant availability, booking confirmation, guaranteed
reservations and multilingual user interface.
In addition, over 1200 unique properties in China are available online as
well as a growing number of hotels in other emerging markets which are not
available on any other distribution system.
“4oceans is the GDS for hotels in emerging travel markets, offering a
gateway to the rest of the world and presenting an opportunity that has
never been available before,” Thornton added.
The web-based platform seamlessly integrates with current operational
environments with upgrades available upon request. Full support and project
management services are included in the deal to ensure a straightforward
implementation process for agents.
