Galileo Launches Business Builders in Canada

has announced that it is expanding Galileo Business Builders (SM) into the Canadian market.  This program is a value-added benefit for all Galileo-connected customers, and was developed to provide exclusive offers designed expressly for the Canadian market to increase agency profitability.

Galileo Business Builders in Canada is an over-arching program designed to enhance agency profits and operations in four ways:

á      Revenue builders - Exclusive new commissionable content and offerings, typically not available through the GDS, to help Galileo-connected agencies enjoy immediate revenue potential.

á      Loyalty builders - Deals that enable agencies to differentiate themselves from competitors and build stronger, long-term client relationships. 


á      Efficiency builders - Cost-saving opportunities to reduce operating expenses and directly impact the bottom line.

á      Technology builders - Discounts on Galileo-approved third-party products and services to help travel agencies manage their businesses.

“We are delighted to offer this strategic initiative in Canada because it creates new channels to generate revenue at a time when our valued travel agency partners` commissions are decreasing through traditional sources, particularly in the Canadian market,” said Shannon Hyland, general manager of Canada and Latin America and vice president of Strategy for the Americas.

Galileo Business Builders in Canada comprises offers from 18 leading companies—- such as Avis, Danka, Hertz, RBC Insurance and Wingate Inns to name a few.  These offers bring immediate and measurable value to Galileo-connected agencies and include savings of up to 40 percent on various products and services, bonus commission opportunities, and other exclusive value-adds.  The program also leverages other Cendant brands.  THOR, for example, offers a 20 percent discount on its THOR 24 service, while Wingate Inns and Budget deliver a Guaranteed Best Available Rate program and free rental days, respectively.

Added Hyland, “Business Builders is a concrete example of how Galileo is leveraging the power of Cendant to provide distinct value to our Canadian travel agency partners beyond the transaction.”  Initially launched in the United States in September 2002, nearly 50 percent of U.S. customers have benefited from over $1 million in value through added revenue, special offers and operational cost-savings.
