Wyndham Anatole Goes Wireless

The Southwest`s largest convention hotel, the Wyndham Anatole, is fulfilling its promise to meet the evolving needs of business travelers and meeting planners with the forthcoming installation of high-speed wireless and wired Internet access in common areas and 315,000 square feet of total meeting space, and wired Internet access in all 1,614 guestrooms.

Provided and managed by Sprint, this new service gives Wyndham guests and meeting attendees the necessary tools to conduct business and stay connected while traveling.

“As the Southwest`s largest convention hotel, we are committed to meeting the changing needs of business travelers and meeting planners whether that means installing new technologies or renovating our meeting space and guestrooms - a process currently underway,” said Marc L. Messina, vice president and general manager of the Wyndham Anatole. “Now more than ever, business travelers and meeting planners are demanding Internet access. Offering high-speed Internet connections from anywhere in the hotel distinguishes us from our competition and demonstrates our commitment to satisfying guest needs.”

The Sprint Guest Online SM system will provide high-speed wired Internet access in all 1,614 Anatole guestrooms through Cisco Long-Reach Ethernet (LRE) broadband access technology. Wireless access, which will be available in the hotel`s common areas and 315,000 square feet of meeting space, is delivered through the Cisco Aironet® 1200 Series wireless local area network (WLAN) access points that support existing and future 802.11 technologies. Utilizing this technology enables guests to secure Internet connectivity at speeds up to 50 times faster than dial-up connections. Sprint also will provide meeting attendees and guests with marketing collateral explaining the service, as well as a 24-hour help desk.

The new wireless connections enhance the hotel`s $33 million renovation currently underway, which includes the addition of the new, state-of-the-art West Wing meeting space and a spectacular renovation of all 1,614 guestrooms.

Custom designed to meet the needs of mid-sized groups, the West Wing has been expanded and redesigned. The new West Wing converts the existing Cannes, Monte Carlo and Mistral meeting rooms, creating two ballrooms, Cortez and Coronado (both divisible by four), totaling more than 11,000 square feet.
