3rd Jul 2003

Wificom Technologies
announced today a strategic distributor agreement with Hong Kong-based Futac Technologies to market and sell Wificom`s SAB Server to carriers, ISPs and service providers in Futac`s main Asia-Pacific markets.

Futac, a major integrator for telecom providers with operations in Hong Kong, Singapore and China, provides a full suite of proprietary broadband products and integration solutions enabling telecom providers to deliver the highest quality voice communications, video and data over wireless and fixed-line networks. Futac has played a key role in the development and expansion of telecommunication infrastructures in Hong Kong, China and the Asia-Pacific region during the last 15 years.

Wayne Tsoi, President of Futac Technologies said, “Futac is already a distributor of Colubris Networks` award-winning Wi-Fi access devices and gateway products, and by adding the Wificom SAB Server to our product portfolio, Futac can now provide its clients with a complete end-to-end solution for public wireless LANs (PWLANs).”

“We have long had a demand for a sophisticated backend and billing system that would enable seamless WISP roaming,” he added. “So, the potential for the SAB Server in our home markets is huge.”

The Futac agreement will considerably increase the Asia-Pacific footprint of Wificom`s carrier-grade platform, SAB Server, now deployed in Asia by Systech Telecom, the largest wireless broadband operator for the hotel industry in Hong Kong.

Sofia Flood, Sales and Marketing Director of Wificom commented: “Futac has a very interesting position as one of the major integrators in the region. Futac counts among its client companies such as Hutchinson Global Communications, Smartone and PCCW-HKT (formerly Hong Kong Telecom) - so we are confident that in Futac we have found an ideal partner to support our Asian expansion.”

Futac, which recently completed a road show in Indonesia, Singapore and Malaysia to promote SAB Server, has already made the system operational in Hong Kong to provide ASP services to pilot clients and to act as a demo system for other accounts.
