United Reaches 10 Million Easycheck-in User Milestone
, today
announced that it has reached the 10 million-user milestone for its
popular EasyCheck-in units.
The carrier began the installation in July
2001 and to date it has 522 units in 26 airports in the United States.
In addition, in August the units will feature a new functionality that
will allow a significant percentage of customers traveling from the
United States to international destinations to check in using the
EasyCheck-in kiosks.
“Our customers have asked us for more of the EasyCheck-in units, and we
continue to make them available with increased functionality throughout
the airports we serve,” said John Tague, United`s executive vice
president - Customer. “The milestone we have reached today is very
important for us and for the customer`s airport experience, as it helps
them speed through the airport by issuing their boarding document in
less than 60 seconds and proceed directly to a security checkpoint
without having to wait in line at the check-in counter.”
More than 10 million United customers have used EasyCheck-in
self-service units to quickly check-in for a flight, choose their seat
assignments and obtain their boarding pass when traveling domestically
with a United electronic ticket. EasyCheck-in allows airport employees
to offer more personalized service in front of the ticket counter and
focus on more complex transactions. United will deploy EasyCheck-in at
50 more airports by early 2004.
The newest EasyCheck-in locations include Orange County, CA.; Dallas,
TX. and Atlanta, GA.; and by month`s end Boise, ID.; Phoenix, AZ. and
San Jose, CA., will have the units.
