SkyTeam Launches New Site to Improve Passenger Experience

Reflecting customer feedback gathered during the past two years, SkyTeam unveiled the latest version of its Web site, www.skyteam.com
, with additions designed to enhance passengerså’ experiences as they prepare for travel throughout the world.

“The latest version of our Web site truly applies SkyTeam’s ‘Caring More About You’ philosophy to the customers’ online experience,” said Scott VanDeBurg, a skyteam.com working group member and Project Manager, eBusiness Global Development, at Delta. “With features like detailed airport and destination guides, a global events calendar and planning tools, skyteam.com is the must-visit, pre-trip destination for all travelers.”

New features on the site, which is being launched in conjunction with the alliance’s third anniversary, include:

- Travel Resources, including airport information, destination guides and event listings.

- Travel Planner tools, with currency, time and weather information for cities around the globe.

- An interactive overview of SkyTeam customer benefits, as well as particulars about SkyTeam products, such as the Around the World fare and European Airpass.

- More information about SkyTeam destinations, frequent flyer benefits and a downloadable desktop calendar and screensaver.

Within the new Travel Resources section, visitors can use the Airport Manager feature to look up airport information from a collection of 50 of SkyTeam’s most popular destinations. By selecting departure, arrival and connecting cities, users can review and download terminal maps, lounge locations and hours and ground transportation options.

New City Business Guides and Leisure Guides on skyteam.com offer business and leisure travelers practical destination information. This content, including cultural etiquette, locations of cyber cafes, visa and customs regulations, as well as dining and sightseeing insight, provides insider knowledge to enhance the passengers’ experience of a destination once they have deplaned. In addition, visitors have the option of downloading one-page “mini-guides” to be compiled into a customized guidebook and taken on their flight. The section also includes an interactive global events calendar.

Other features, such as the Flight Schedule Request (which enables customers to find every possible SkyTeam travel itinerary between city pairs), were made available earlier this year.
Once destinations are finalized and bags are packed, visitors to skyteam.com can take advantage of the site’s Travel Planner, featuring a travel toolkit with an online currency converter, local time and real-time weather forecasts. The Travel Planner also includes a section dedicated to health and comfort on long haul trips, featuring step-by-step relaxation and exercise tips that are available on SkyTeam member flights.

In addition to travel tools, the enhanced version of skyteam.com offers a new layer of interactivity with animated content regarding SkyTeam customer benefits and products (Around the World fares and European Airpass), as well as dynamic global destination maps.

“As a global airline alliance, SkyTeam is a unique travel resource. The new version of skyteam.com allows us to share collective knowledge and provide all of the travel resources our passengers need,” stated VanDeBurg.
