IndeCorp, the parent company of Preferred Hotels & Resorts Worldwide, Summit Hotels & Resorts, and Sterling Hotels & Resorts, employs RezView for its central reservations system functions at more than 300 hotels around the world.  Dallas-based Pegasus Solutions is a leading global provider of hotel reservations-related services and technology.

’ Web-based training courses for RezView enable hoteliers to easily train geographically dispersed personnel.  The training uses interactive lessons to engage users, as well as graded tests to assess performance.  The Web-based method eliminates travel time and expense, delivers the material on demand and ensures consistent lessons.  Additionally, online training reports help managers stay abreast of staff progress.  Online training is also available for the Web-based PegasusCentral? property management system.

In addition to NetRez and RezView, IndeCorp uses Pegasus’ Electronic Distribution Switch to connect its properties to the major global distribution systems (GDSs), and Netbooker to efficiently offer Internet booking capabilities at its properties.  Pegasus provides global voice representation services for IndeCorp, booking international reservations at Pegasus’ eight call centers on five continents.  IndeCorp’s properties also use Pegasus Commission Processing to consolidate and automate commission payments to travel agents.

According to Deena Kaufman, vice president of reservation services for IndeCorp, the company is “delighted” with the Web-based training: “We’ve received a wonderful response from the hotels about Pegasus’ Web-based training.  With 300 hotels around the world, we feel this type of training is the next best thing to being there.  Our preference is to conduct training in-person, but we also emphasize the Web-based method as both a reinforcement of the training as well as a means for others on-property to be trained.  The more a hotel understands how to use the NetRez software, the more opportunities they have to generate revenue.”

Kaufman continued, “Pegasus’ Web-based training is ideal for new hires, but it is also great as a refresher tool for seasoned employees.  We intended the training for reservations and revenue managers, but we may see front office managers and desk clerks using it to cross-train.  It is also a great tool for senior management who want to familiarize themselves with NetRez’ capabilities.  We expect that people from 75 to 80 percent of our properties will use the program this year.”

Gideon Dean, senior vice president of sales for Pegasus Solutions, said, “Web-based training is fulfilling its promises, letting IndeCorp’s hoteliers train their personnel in an engaging, consistent, on-demand basis.  We encourage more of our customers to use this benefit in order to see the results in their properties.”
