Hotels Sign on with Travelweb at Record Pace
, a travel distribution company, announced the addition of more than 1,000 hotels in just two weeks to its ever-growing distribution network. Now more than 6,000 hotels representing over 90 hotel brands have chosen Travelweb as the distribution channel for their net-rate inventories.
“Of the 6,000 hotels in our network today, 49% are non-investor brands. Travelweb`s rapid growth is a testament to a merchant model that is truly supplier-friendly,” said Joe Humphry, chief executive officer of Travelweb LLC. “Travelweb enables hoteliers to reap the benefits of lower distribution costs, yield and revenue management, and faster, automatic payment.”
Hotels participating in Travelweb`s seamless distribution network include some of the following: IndeCorp, whose properties include Sterling, Summit, and Preferred Hotels, Raffles International, Fiesta-Americana Hotels, The Leading Hotels of the World, Carlson Hotels, Omni Hotels, Fairmont Hotels and Resorts, Kimpton Boutique Hotels, as well as the properties of Travelweb LLC`s founders: Hilton Hotels Corporation, Hyatt Corporation, Marriott International, Inc., Intercontinental Hotels Group, Starwood Hotels.
In addition, Travelweb`s board of directors has unanimously elected John F. Davis III
as Chairman of the Board, effective immediately. Mr. Davis is chairman of the board, chief executive officer, and president of Dallas-based Pegasus Solutions, Inc., (Nasdaq:PEGS), a leading worldwide provider of hotel reservations-related services and technology, and one of Travelweb`s founding owners and investors. Mr. Davis has served on Travelweb`s board since the company`s inception. He replaces Bruce Wolff, SVP of Distribution Sales and Strategy for Marriott International, who successfully served during Travelweb`s inaugural year and will remain on Travelweb`s board. Travelweb`s board of directors elects the chairmanship annually.
