8th Apr 2003

Newly created trade-only tour operator Travel Plus, the latest venture from former Bluebird boss Stephen Powell, has announced its launch to the industry with TravelOptions` cost-effective operator system.

Travel Plus presently specialises in rental homes in Florida, and will shortly be launching Canada and South Africa with its wide range of land only products, available through independent travel agents.

, one of the UK`s fastest-growing operator system providers, will deliver an integrated platform that will enable Travel Plus` sales consultants to quickly source up-to-date availability and pricing information for agent bookings, and automatically email or fax reservation details to suppliers, and offer a complete selection of back office functionality. Travel Plus has also announced it will take TravelOptions` web bookings system to enable agents to complete online bookings later this year.

Stephen Powell, chief executive officer at Travel Plus commented: “TravelOptions` system will enable the Travel Plus team to quickly build agency business and establish our company as a main player in the industry.”

He added: “TravelOptions has used its understanding of the trade to develop a competitive system that will support our intended growth, which will later include online booking for agents.”

Tim Argent, marketing director at TravelOptions added: “We are continuing to develop the TravelOptions system to meet the real needs of operators, and look forward to announcing many more industry wins, and first-to-market innovations in the tour operator systems sector.”

Travel Plus is the latest operator to choose the TravelOptions system, which operates on a PC server, removing the need for high-cost, high-maintenance alternatives, and which operates across networked PCs or dumb terminals at speeds faster than comparable high-cost products.
