Sabre and China Airlines Implement Operations Control Centre

Sabre Holdings Corporation has signed a major contract with China Eastern Airlines to implement an Operations Control Centre using Sabre Airline Solutions` flight operations products and consulting services.
The AOC signing follows major consolidation in the Chinese aviation market during the past 12 months and is evidence that China Eastern Airlines is striving to become an even more important competitor in this emerging market.

The advanced AOC will help the airline ensure flight safety, minimize aircraft ground time, improve aircraft utilization, and save fuel and operation cost. The airline operations control consulting included in the contract will help China Eastern improve its current operations control process and organisation view.

Mr. Wu, Yu Lin, senior vice president of China Eastern Airlines, said that working with Sabre Airline Solutions on the AOC implementation will enable the airline to further advance in the consolidated marketplace.

“Now is the time for China Eastern to aggressively progress ahead of our competition, and we see this AOC implementation as playing a major role in that advancement,” said Wu. “Together with Sabre Airline Solutions, we aim to forge ahead by improving our operations control and reducing our aircraft utilisation costs.”

Michael Baldwin, Sabre senior vice president for the Asia/Pacific region, said the AOC deal with China Eastern Airlines is representative of the partnership ethos Sabre Airline Solutions maintains in all relationships.
