OTC Reacts to Civil Aviation Authority Warnings

Following on from the widespread coverage on the Civil Aviation Authority`s
new leaflet pointing out the risk of taking a DIY package holiday, Mark Jones
(CEO at OTC) has reacted with the following comments:

“In response to the comments made in the CAA`s leaflet on bonding for
consumers on self-packaging bookings, I would like to point out that every
customer booking a DIY holiday using OTC`s first-to-market self-packaging
technology is bonded under our Tour Operator licence.

“Therefore our solution, available across our own sites such as
Onlinetravel.com and our partner sites such as BTOpenworld and The
Telegraph, in fact offers complete security, coupled with the flexibility of
creating a holiday from the choice of hundreds of airlines and thousands of
hotels. We believe the self-packaging market, which we created in the online
sector, offers enormous opportunity for our market. It is what holidaymakers
want, and allows tour operators and online agency brands such as our own to
carve out a vast new market in what are difficult times for our industry.”
