Mixing Business with Pleasure at Forte Village

Hidden away in the island of Sardinia, a paradise of wild forests, steep seaside cliffs and dazzling beaches, set in a sea of incredible colours, is one of the world`s most sought-after resorts; Forte Village. This exotic escape promises unparalleled delights to waken the senses of even the most jaded traveller.

For the fifth consecutive year Forte Village has managed to maintain its title as `Worlds Leading Resort.` Perhaps the recipe for their success is to be found in the continuing development of the resort, ensuring the most dynamic and exciting facilities for its guests. Following the completion last year of an exquisite lagoon swimming pool and a fun packed Mini Club, Forte Village is currently building an ice- skating rink and six new deluxe rooms at the Castello Hotel.
As a seasonal Hotel, during the winter months, Forte Village offers solely conference and incentives facilities. Exhibiting this meetings haven at EIBTM, Cristiano Cabutti, Director of Sales at Forte Village, speaks to Hotels-Weekly about their key attributes.
“Forte Village combines state of the art technology with a relaxing atmosphere for all your meetings needs” Cristiano tells Hotels-Weekly “Conferencing is very important to us. It is one of our major sources of revenue accounting for about 50%”.
Indeed, Forte Village boasts a variety of conference halls and meetings rooms with the latest video conferencing technology and all the most advanced services available upon request. Rooms are soundproofed and air conditioned with a central amplification unit with facilities for simultaneous translation and audio-visual equipment and screens. Additionally, there is a video terrace and foyer for those essential coffee breaks and cocktails.
I asked Cristiano what he felt the meetings planner looked for and how Forte Village could cater for their needs. He commented. “Forte Village is a great location for conferences and incentives. Our 11 syndicate rooms are designed to meet most of the customer needs from a conference side; the trend is to keep the group together for the first day and then to break the group up. Our Conference hall can be divided into 2 rooms and overall, the fact that you have 19 rooms available at the Forte Village offers groups a lot of choice”.

He continued “Above all, I think it is important that we have such a combination of business facilities and the leisure side. - Our recreational facilities are really good for team building. For example, groups can organise games and competitions with the go- kart, cross buggy and golf”.

Fun for adults and fantastic for kids, the Forte Village is essentially a family resort with an astonishing selection of activities and entertainment. Cristiano comments “I think that the Forte Village is one of the most fun places for the family in Europe”.

Leisure facilities range from tennis and bowling to a wide choice of watersports that can be enjoyed in the Mediterranean sea. For those who enjoy the outdoors, there`s mountain biking through the woods and beaches you`ve only dreamed about. At night time, the beauty of the resort comes alive, highlighted by the stars. The fun continues with evening entertainment which includes a choice of worldly cuisines, a nightclub, shows, and an electronic gamesroom.

Cristiano reveals “We are a family orientated resort. We try to cater for everyone because when you select a destination it is always necessary to compromise with the rest of the family and everyone wants something different”.

Another beautiful creation of the Forte Village is `Thermae del Parco,` an exclusive setting of tropical gardens. Here guests can pamper themselves in the sauna, experience the benefit of Turkish baths and keep fit in the gym.

The Thermae del Parco offer Mediterranean culture`s best-kept secret: thalassotherapy. In this spa, you can ease away the stress of modern day life to re-discover health and well-being.

Cristiano comments “Our own thalassotherapy centre is a very unique and special feature of Forte Village. It is 38 degrees and the only European spa that is outdoors” He adds, “It contains sea water, salt, mud and sand. These living materials are the softest, most effective cure against muscular ailments and skin problems. Football players often come here to recover from injuries”.
www.fortevillageresort.com dedicates itself to providing any information a guest requires about Forte Village, from the spa, to the suites and detailed information about the conference area. Offering a 360 degree virtual tour and an additional section dedicated to the destination of Sardinia, this website has been carefully constructed and is of a high quality to match the resort itself.
Forte Village are always listening to customer feedback. Cristiano informed me, “Each year, we do 1500 interviews of guests to see how they found out about the Forte Village. We have discovered that there is a definite growth on the internet side. We found it increased from 2% who knew about us because of the website last year, to 6% this year”
Cristiano disclosed that the Forte Village sees the internet as a very important tool. ?gIf you consider that our total revenue is more or less 500 million euros and we spent 40,000 euros last year building our new website, you will see that the internet is a very important investment for us. We are probably going to spend the same again next year due to renovations. As we continue to develop the Forte Village, we will continue to update the website. Obviously you have to keep updating your site and you must try to keep it appealing and vibrant.

The continuing development of Forte Village has ensured the idyllic, relaxed environment that guests experience at this charming resort. Constant attention to detail has preserved this corner of paradise to guarantee a refreshing and revitalising experience.
