RADISSON SAS CELEBRATES THE CENTENARY OF ARNE JACOBSON IN ROYAL STYLE


The Radisson SAS Royal Hotel, Copenhagen, designed by the illustrious architect and designer Arne Jacobson, is celebrating his 100-year anniversary with a special weekend å‘AJ Package,å’ running until 21st December 2002.



Best known around the world for his iconic chairs with their distinctive organic shapes, Jacobsen designed many buildings especially in his native Denmark.  He designed almost every detail from the brickwork and door handles; to cutlery, furniture and light fittings for the Radisson SAS Royal Hotel.


Opened in 1960, the Royal Hotel led the way in contemporary design and maintains the original theme.  Jacobson’s influence has been pivotal in the hotel’s history and success, so this package celebrates his life and achievements as well as providing the opportunity to see another aspect of his work.
In the heart of Copenhagen, opposite Tivoli Gardens, City Hall Square and within the city’s shopping area, the Radisson SAS Royal Hotel is also perfectly placed to explore the other wonders of the enchanting city.
